Typical Despostic Humor
Kicking off April 2012 was the ongoing massacre in Syria at the hands of Bashar Assad’s armed forces. He made a mockery of the UN 6 Point Peace Plan by ratcheting up the pressure on his opponenets, just as he was supposed to be laying down his guns in a cease fire, to be started by a withdrawal of troops from town centers, and more. What happened instead was that he killed more Syrians, at a faster clip.
The Daily Dose thought to caricature this failure of diplomacy in the name of saving democracy, by burying democacy in a grave, with Assad standing above, giving the old April Fool’s phrase, in this Assad Accepts. April Fool’s Cartoon.
This editorial cartoon was drawn by Laughzilla and first published on April 1st, 2012.
How Assad Reads Kofi Annan's Plan
Syria’s Bashar Assad formally accepted the UN’s Peace Plan, as presented by Kofi Annan, and then he twisted its meaning to his liking.
Laughzilla took a shot at the dictator’s arsenal of political percptions with this How Assad Accepted the UN’s 6 Point Peace Plan Editorial Cartoon, originally drawn and published for The Daily Dose on March 30, 2012.
This political cartoon of the Syrian Six-Shooter was drawn from the hip to give artistic oxygen to the #OccupyNGOs movement, because the top 1% of technocrats should not control over half of international institutions of issues.
super poke in the eye
Believe it or not, facebook actually tried to legally stop people from using the words face, book, wall and poke. In March 2012 it came to a head as lawyers on both sides fought it out.
To contribute art to the cause of those who want to occupy frivolous lawsuits, laughzilla created this face book wall poke cartoon, which is a cover of a book you never reads, including the 4 letter words banned on facebook, even if your friend doesn’t like it.
This editorial comic caricature lampoons the occupy frivolous lawsuits movement, with a digital jab to the retina.
Take that, Mark Z.
How's that Change working for them?
It was an unusual turnout for an odd election in Senegal. The second round of voting for the President went from disturbingly unrestful and violent, to a sweeping victory for democracy, albeit one which delivered little in the way of real change in its immediate aftermath.
Other than changing presidents peacefully, Senegal chose Mr. Sall, the former protege of Mr. Wade, to succeed Mr. Wade. Yes, it was a change of leadership, but one that leaves unanaswered many questions about the future of this once peaceful west African nation, once considered a model of a developing, peaceful democratic nation, despite its rampant corruption at the highest levels of government.
And so Laughzilla drew this Senegal Elections Cartoon for The Daily Dose on the eve of the decisive round at the polls.
Who Warms The Sun?
The Middle East offers the world of revolutionary technologies which are advancing the use of clean energy in culture and lifestyle.
Laughzilla thought it would be good to remind everyone about the leading varieties of alternative energy technologies and assets commonly available today, including: Solar, Wind, Water, Bio Energy, and the ships of the deserts, Camels.
So was this MidEast Clean Tech Cartoon borne by humor.
As March 2012 rolled along, the murder carried on, and the international calls to end it were squirmish and mealy-mouthed, at best.
Laughzilla thought about the sort of relationship Assad was sharing with Death at the time, and came up with this Assad Welcomes Death in Syria cartoon for The Daily Dose.
It has been causing bone-chilling laughter ever since.
Happy St. Patrick's Day
In the Middle of March, Bashar Assad kept up his killing spree, offing his own subjects at a rate of 30 or so a day, estimates indicated.
Laughzilla considered what kind of PR stumt Assad might pull if he were trying to woo more fans in Ireland, upon St. Patrick’s Day. And so, this Assad St. Patrick’s Day Cartoon came to be.
