french presidential election editorial cartoon

Je ne fait pas ...

The Spring of 2012 saw France heading to the polls in a vote that would determine whether the people of Gaul would re-elect President Sarkozy or replace him with his main political rival, Francois Hollande.

The incumbent President was facing a man who had never held office before, yet whose personal charisma with the voters was showing him to lead in the polls right up until polling day.

Laughzilla drew this French Presidential Elections Political Cartoon for The Daily Dose to celebrate some rare coincidences about recent Presidential election coincidences in the political history of France.

Anyone who knows their French history will notice that this comic references the Principate of Andorra, which is headed by two power-sharing heads of state, one of whom is the acting President of France.

This cartoon was contributed to the cause of the #OccupyBrieBallots movement, because the Top 1% of French Cheese Eaters should not own more than half of all the stinky cheese in France.

They Did What ?!?

And so it was that the American Secret Service became the center of attention, rather than staying behind the scenes, when they decided to host a party, complete with local prostitutes, when they took part in a security detail for an event in Colombia which hosted, among other guests, President Barack Obama.

The Secret Service Sex Scandal became a hot topic trending on twitter and other social networks, and was a luscious piece of red meat for media outlets. The Daily Dose commissioned Laughzilla to crystalize the affair in an illustrative #SecretServiceSexScandal comic strip.

The result was this U.S. Secret Service Sex Scandle Cartoon. What do you think of it? I’d love to hear from you.

cease fire in syria starring kofi annan and bashar assad cartoon

Yeah Right.

Kofi Annan’s 6 point plan was due to go into effect with measurable goals on April 10th and April 12th. Other than silencing the guns (not entirely), there was little change on the ground in Syria.

Bashar Assad was clearly playing the diplomatic game to his strengths, namely, deceiving the international community as much as he could, and taking advantage of all the many conflicts around the globe which were distracting attention from forcing his hand to stop the war against his own people and begin real democratic reforms.

To satire this situation, Laughzilla penned this simple and powerful caricature of Mr. Annan and Mr. Assad, each issuing a different half of the cease fire order. This Annan Assad Cease Fire editorial cartoon first appeared in The Daily Dose on April 12, 2012.

Take the long way home

As the Passover holiday arrived, it left some Jews thinking about their neighbors afflicted by the tyrrany of their scornful dictator, Bashar Assad.

And so, Laughzilla penned this Hebrew or Syrians Fleeing Cartoon for The Daily Dose, in support of donating art to the #OccupyExodus movement, because the top 1% of refugees should not own more than half of all the mass migrations.

L'Chaim! L'Chaim! To Life! L'Chaim! 🙂

As the Jewish holiday of Passover arrived once again, in 2012 CE, Oy Vey thought it would be funny to recall one of the reasons the traditional meal is so well loved by so many who part take in the Seder. What magic ingredient makes it so wonderful? Four Cups of Wine.

This Happy Passover Wine editorial cartoon was drawn by Laughzilla and published on April 6, 2012.

assad accepts the 6 point plan cartoon - april fool's

Typical Despostic Humor

Kicking off April 2012 was the ongoing massacre in Syria at the hands of Bashar Assad’s armed forces. He made a mockery of the UN 6 Point Peace Plan by ratcheting up the pressure on his opponenets, just as he was supposed to be laying down his guns in a cease fire, to be started by a withdrawal of troops from town centers, and more. What happened instead was that he killed more Syrians, at a faster clip.

The Daily Dose thought to caricature this failure of diplomacy in the name of saving democracy, by burying democacy in a grave, with Assad standing above, giving the old April Fool’s phrase, in this Assad Accepts. April Fool’s Cartoon.

This editorial cartoon was drawn by Laughzilla and first published on April 1st, 2012.

how bashar perceives the UN's 6 Point Plan editorial cartoon

How Assad Reads Kofi Annan's Plan

Syria’s Bashar Assad formally accepted the UN’s Peace Plan, as presented by Kofi Annan, and then he twisted its meaning to his liking.

Laughzilla took a shot at the dictator’s arsenal of political percptions with this How Assad Accepted the UN’s 6 Point Peace Plan Editorial Cartoon, originally drawn and published for The Daily Dose on March 30, 2012.

This political cartoon of the Syrian Six-Shooter was drawn from the hip to give artistic oxygen to the #OccupyNGOs movement, because the top 1% of technocrats should not control over half of international institutions of issues.

The Face Book Wall Poke Cartoon

occupy facebook wall poke

super poke in the eye

Believe it or not, facebook actually tried to legally stop people from using the words face, book, wall and poke. In March 2012 it came to a head as lawyers on both sides fought it out.

To contribute art to the cause of those who want to occupy frivolous lawsuits, laughzilla created this face book wall poke cartoon, which is a cover of a book you never reads, including the 4 letter words banned on facebook, even if your friend doesn’t like it.

This editorial comic caricature lampoons the occupy frivolous lawsuits movement, with a digital jab to the retina.

Take that, Mark Z.
